At Island Federal, the health and well-being of our members, associates and community is our highest priority. With the mounting concerns surrounding the Coronavirus COVID-19, we are closely monitoring the information provided by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). We are taking every precaution to protect the health of our members and associates at all Island locations to ensure the continuity of banking operations.

Update 9/16/2020:

Our Hauppauge branch is now open. The branch has been cleaned according to guidelines established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). We take every precaution to protect the health of our Members and Employees at all Island locations.

Update 9/14/2020:

An Island Federal Team Member working in our Hauppauge branch has tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19). We learned of the employee's test results late on Monday, September 14, 2020. Out of an abundance of caution, Island's Hauppauge branch location will be closed Tuesday, September 15, 2020. A cleaning crew will thoroughly clean the branch, following guidelines established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ("CDC").

If you have visited the Hauppauge branch in the past several weeks and are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, please contact your medical professional and take the appropriate measures recommended by the CDC here.

The safety of our employees and Members is our first priority. We will reopen the Hauppauge branch on Wednesday, September 16, 2020.

Our Sayville branch is now open. The branch has been cleaned according to guidelines established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). We take every precaution to protect the health of our Members and Employees at all Island locations.

 

Update 9/12/2020:

An Island Federal Team Member working in our Sayville branch has tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19). We learned of the employee's test results late on Friday, September 11, 2020. Out of an abundance of caution, Island's Sayville branch location will be closed Saturday, September 12, 2020. A cleaning crew will thoroughly clean the branch, following guidelines established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ("CDC").

If you have visited the Sayville branch in the past several weeks and are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, please contact your medical professional and take the appropriate measures recommended by the CDC here.

The safety of our employees and Members is our first priority. We will reopen the Sayville branch on Monday, September 14, 2020.

 

Update 07/27/2020:

Our Massapequa Branch has officially reopened. In order to maintain social distancing rules, we will be limiting the number of members allowed in the branch. You may be asked to wait in your vehicle if the branch reaches its limit. Face coverings must be worn at all times, and appointments for non-teller transactions are still preferred. Thank you for your patience.

 

Update 06/29/2020:

Island Federal will be reopening our branches starting July 1, 2020. In order to maintain social distancing rules, we will be limiting the number of members allowed in each branch at a given time. You may be asked to wait in your vehicle if the branch reaches its limit.

Some key practices to remember, as we continue to bring you a safe banking environment:

  • Face coverings must be worn at all times.
  • Appointments are still requested when needing to speak with one of our member service representatives regarding any non-teller transactions.
  • Drive-Thru usage is still strongly suggested, where accessible (see chart for locations with drive-thru access)
  • All Shared Service transactions must be done via Drive-Thru

To ensure the safety of Island members and associates, branch access will be by APPOINTMENT ONLY. If you cannot address your banking needs by utilizing one of the Drive-Thru windows at our Hauppauge, Sayville, Selden or Hicksville locations, via Online or Mobile Banking or at an ATM, you may call us to schedule an appointment at a local branch during normal business hours.

 

Branch appointments will only be made for transactions that cannot be handled through one of the channels listed above. Please do not visit a branch if you are ill, experiencing flu-like symptoms, or if you have been in close contact with a person who has a possible or confirmed case of COVID-19. We greatly appreciate your patience during these challenging times. Please stay safe.

Update: 04/08/2020:

We have just become aware of two confirmed cases of individuals with the COVID-19 virus at our Hauppauge and Sayville branches with a possible exposure date of March 28, 2020. Both branches have been thoroughly disinfected in accordance with CDC guidelines. All staff who were exposed at those branches are under home quarantine for two weeks. If you visited either of these locations in the past few weeks and are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, please contact your medical professional and take the appropriate measures recommended by CDC here.

Update: 03/30/2020:

Island Federal has introduced new precautionary measures to ensure the health and safety of our members and associates during this unprecedented time.

These new measures include:

  • Modified hours
  • Temporary branch closures
    • Massapequa
    • Stony Brook University (SAC)
  • Limited or controlled access to the lobby
    • All teller transactions should be conducted at the Drive-thru windows when available
    • If there is no drive-thru at your nearest location, please utilize ATMs, Online Banking, Mobile Banking or Automated Teller
    • We will honor Shared Branching Services at the Drive-thru

 

If your transaction MUST be done at a branch, upon arrival you will be asked to fill out a sign-in sheet and wait to be called into the branch. Branch access is extremely limited and only available if absolutely necessary. We thank you for your patience at this time.

Advice from the CDC

While our core mission is to improve the financial health of our members, Island urges our members to take their own precautions to remain healthy. Some of the recommendations from the CDC include:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds after you’ve been in a public space, or after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing.
  • If soap and water aren’t available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Stay home if you are sick, except to get medical care.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily.
